Rene Studer is a Small Business banker with Pinnacle
Financial Partners in the Charleston area, providing
clients with tailored deposit and lending solutions. Pinnacle’s footprint covers nine Southeastern States has approximately $55 billion in assets and just recently was No. 9 on Fortune’s best financial services firms to work for in the U.S.
Rene has specialized in working with the military community and enjoys banking veteran-owned businesses and non-profits. He is passionate about supporting nonprofits that help the military and veterans, especially organizations that focus on mental wellness. He is on the board of Palmetto Military Support Group and serves as VP on their executive team. He is also on the board of WarriorWOD where he leads the fundraising committee. He very recently joined the National Medal of Honor Center for Leadership as a national advisory board member.
In addition, Rene is a member of the Charleston Metro Chamber’s Military Advisory Committee, and he is the Veteran Advisor for the Mt. Pleasant Chamber, leading veteran-focused initiatives. He is well connected to local military leaders and hosts several military related events such as Armed Forces Day or Coast Guard Day. He collaborates with several departments at The Citadel on an ongoing basis and is particularly supportive of the military college’s Veteran Student Success Center.
He aims to make a significant positive impact on the community by sponsoring and participating in local benefit- and fundraising events. Rene is part of Pinnacle’s regional Community Engagement Leadership Council. He is on Pinnacle’s firm-wide Military/Veterans planning committee and serves as Regional Financial Education Advocate for the firm.
Rene’s extensive business experience includes roles at investment firms, retail banks, and in the airline/travel industry in the United States and in his native Switzerland. Some people do refer to him as “the Swiss Banker” in Charleston. He had also completed all his higher education in business and finance in Switzerland.
He currently resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC with his wife and twin daughters; oh, and let’s not forget the Golden Retriever. Besides English, Rene speaks German, Swiss-German, French and Italian. His favorite travel destination is Hawaii.
